Notes[]

  • Seyg-El's name is a derivation of Siegel, the surname of Superman co-creator, Jerry Siegel. While Jor-L (original spelling of Superman's father Jor-El which (later spelling0 was introduced for the first time in More Fun Comics #101 by Don Cameron) was anagram for "Jerome" (name that Siegel marked all of his bylines (when he wasn't using his pen-name) up until 1939 when it became "Jerry")
  • In the Pre-Crisis continuity, Jor-El's father was named Jor-El the First.
  • In Goyer's Starman run it was stated that Seyg-El is 21st generation of House of El, Jor-El is 22nd , meaning Kal-El is 23rd.
