Koko is a small monkey-like creature, and Brainiac's pet and companion. It is called a "space monkey".
Pre-Crisis[]
He accompanied Brainiac aboard his spaceship as they captured alien cities. ("The Super-Duel in Space")
Post-Crisis[]
A larger, more ferocious version of Koko lived aboard Brainiac's ship, and fought Superman. Superman commented that Koko was likely one of Brainiac's genetic experiments. ("Superman: Brainiac")
In the 31st Century, Brainiac 5 still kept Koko as a pet.
