Action Comics Weekly is the retitled Action Comics that ran weekly from June 1988 to March 1989. It keeps the Action Comics numbering, running through issues 601 to 642. For this period, the book became an anthology series featuring stories with several DC Comics characters.
A two-page Superman story ran serialized through this run, written by Roger Stern and illustrated by Curt Swan. The majority of this serial follows a story concerning a group of followers referred to as "The Fellowship" who believe Superman to be a god. The final three issues concern the prejudices against Quraci-American citizens in the wake of a series of terrorist bombings in the Middle East.
