Daxamites are an alien race from the planet Daxam. Their planet, like Krypton, orbits a red star; and like Kryptonians, Daxamites will gain superpowers when living under a yellow star. In fact, their powers and abilities are nearly identical to those of Kryptonians; The only difference being that they have no weakness to Kryptonite, and instead are severely weakened by a serious sensitivity to lead.

Daxamites are a humanoid race hailing from the planet Daxam. They are descended from Kryptonian settlers who interbred with the prehistoric Daxam natives, as such, they are the cousins of the Kryptonians and posses the same powers and abilities under a yellow star. They were renowned for their biochemical research. They are fatally hyper-allergic to lead, though by the 31st century, they will have found a cure, enabling them to become renowned space explorers.

It is believed that the Daxamites are descendants of a large separatist group of Kryptonian that left Krypton to live on another world in the first mission to colonize a dwarf red star, a thousand years before the end of Krypton. It started at the beginning of the Kryptonian era when an alien race visited Krypton in prehistory, led by Bertron scientist, he and his team were responsible for creating the monster "Doomsday" that eliminated all the aliens, using one of their ships to leave Krypton to space, the rest of these ships were used by the primitive Kryptonians, giving the beginning the technological evolution in Krypton. 500 years later, Krypton was already mastering its technologies, initiating galactic exploration to other planets for 100 years. With the invasion of a hostile alien race called Vrangs, Krypton surrendered to them, where the Kryptonians became slaves for 5 years, Admiral Val-OR led a warring troop succeeding in ending slavery in Krypton by expelling all Vrangs, sacrificing his own life, his body was buried under his monument, beginning the foundation of the city of Kandor, after this event, the individual government of Krypton changed to a single government, which commanded the whole planet, the high council. The high council ordered the decommissioning of the Kryptonian exploratory ships and their withdrawal from service, all of them returning to Krypton, minus one, of Captain Dax-AM, who did not agree with the new Krypton government, deciding to stay in a new world, revolted with death of his friend Val-OR, Dax-AM baptized the planet in his name as Daxam and the red dwarf sun of Valor in honor of his mentor, 800 Kryptonian immigrants living in a new world. In course of time, the Kryptonian found an isolated tribe indigenous "Ogigi" to the outside world living in caves as xenophobic and religious, disciples of your god Sard, avoiding the lead contamination in the few places on planet, with time, there was the unification between Kryptonians and the indigenous tribe, began a new race admixture, the Daxamites. The Kryptonian customs were erased by the descendants to start a new Daxamite idealism, 300 years after the formation of Daxam was completed. The scientists of Daxam excluded all lead poisoning material on the planet, further extending the lives of residents of the planet. Through the ages, the Daxamites founded a new religious and xenophobic order known as "eradicators" avoiding contact with other planets, founding the government's white triangle with strict laws to Daxamites. The heritage of Daxamites have the same powers of Kryptonians and the weakness of his former indigenous ancestors by lead, however, the Daxamites are not affected by the deadly Kryptonite, but the healing anti-kryptonite (piece of Argo City) decreases the lead poisoning. Three thousand years after Kryptonian colonization, after the mixing of indigenous xenophobic, Daxam is considered an isolated planet in its sector in space, gradually the xenophobic prejudice that ending the doctrines of Sodam Yat and Mon-El as the legendary free will Daxamite the population, and some get to know the outside world, even risking their lives for the benefit of a dream for the beginning of the change of other Daxamite generations. Despite forgetting Krypton customs, Daxamites retain the religious customs of their indigenous descendants, worshiping God "Sard" positioning the xenophobic laws on the planet.

They were indigenous primate breeds, which were descendants of those who came from the sky, the old inhabitants of Daxam. The cleric was a mysterious alien who visited planets to abduct beings, altering their DNA to be slaves to him about five hundred thousand years ago in his "Warworld" star empire. He preached the teachings of the Divine Deity and was responsible for the genesis of the Clone Rights Movement. The cleric established a ministry in his tyranny, however, the genetic flaw introduced by his brother Sard altered the idealism of his followers, creating a rebellion against the tyrannical cleric in the subterranean prison of a planetoid founded by him. During a war with the powerful cleric, Sard sacrifices his life to save a group of surviving slaves, leaving them to a planet nearer to a red dwarf star, colliding his ship with the other ship of his brother cleric. The survivors came to live in the caves and their descendants became a tribe of natives, who were isolated far away from their natural habitat, and Sard became a God to this people, they called themselves Ogigi.

Generations passed, and a group of rebellious settlers from the planet Krypton "Kryptonians" settled to the planet, encountering the Ogigi tribe, but the "lead" brought from Krypton began to kill a group of Ogigi in exchange for land offerings. Lead was eliminated by the Kryptonians to preserve the culture of the Ogigi, and the two races mingled over the years, becoming a single race called Daxamite, which inherited the powers of the Kryptonians over the yellow sun and the fatal mortality of lead by the Ogigi.

Possessing a genome similar to that of Kryptonians, Daxamites, when exposed to the radiant light of a yellow star, gain powers and abilities similar to that of Superman, including super strength, flight, near-invulnerability, super-senses, super-speed, super and freeze breath, and heat and x-ray vision. Millennia ago, the Daxamites were a group of Kryptonians who decided to wander the universe in exploration. Dax-Am founded the planet which was named after him. The Kryptonian colonists were able to mate with the natives and so interbred to create a new species, Daxamites. Eventually Daxamites decided to expand in the universe. Daxamite, Bal Gand went exploring on Earth and conceived a child with an Incan man. Her bloodline inherited a desire to travel and explore while those without her blood sought isolation. This led to a civil war across the planet and eventually travel off planet was banned.

Daxamites were first encountered during the Invasion crisis, when a number of alien worlds took an interest in Earth for it’s propensity to breed numerous super-powered beings. The Dominators, looking to create an army for their own purposes, contacted the aquatic Gil’Dishpan, the brutish Khunds, the fascist Thanagarians, the shape-shifting Durlans, the warlike Okaarans, malevolent Psions, and the logical Daxamites. All species agreed to invade Earth, except the Daxamites who sent an observation team, refusing to take part in any of the fighting.

Once the invasion force had established a beachhead in Australia, the Daxamite observation group began to exhibit wondrous abilities. Drunk on power, the seven of them engaged the leader of a resistance assault group, Superman, beating him nearly senseless. They fought for several minutes but then the exertion of the fighting and being exposed to such high contents of lead in earth’s atmosphere left the Daxamites dying. Only the quick thinking of Superman saved the lives of the observation group.

The Daxamites at that moment realized they were on the wrong side. One of their number sacrificed his life to radio the Daxamite Starfleet to involve itself in this unjust invasion. Involve itself it did, within minutes many Daxamite science vessels moved to intercept Dominion warships, which the Dominion found laughable until the crews left the confines of their ships and attacked. Thousands of Supermen acting in defense of Earth, it turned the tide of the invasion.

The most famous Daxamite is Lar Gand, who has also been known as Mon-El, M’onel, and Valor. It was his father who sacrificed his life during the invasion. Inspired, he was briefly a hero on Earth during the 20th century, taking a crucial part during the ‘ Darkness Within’ saga. He later seeded all the worlds that would later become United Planet worlds. Lar Gand would later be placed into the Phantom Zone to save him from fatal lead poisoning, but freed in the 30th century by Braniac V.

The Green Lantern of Space Sector 1760, Sodam Yat, is a Daxamite who used the Ion power to turn Daxam's red sun, yellow and allowed Daxamites the power to take on the Sinestro Corps that threatened them. Sodam Yat reappears in the 31st century as a Guardian and heralds a new era in the Green lantern corps.

Daxamite Abilities:

Their body is constantly absorbing and storing energy from Earth's yellow sun, which in turn grants them incredible powers, such as superhuman strength, enhanced senses, impenetrable skin, and even the ability to defy gravity. Their body is also able to absorb the radiation of a blue sun, this grants them increased strength and various other powers.

Superhuman Strength: Daxamites have a strength that puts them on par with their sister race, the Kryptonians. Daxamites have the ability to lift and carry great weights with minimal effort.

Superhuman Speed: Daxamite physiology grants its members an enhanced metabolism, muscular speed, and nervous system. Due to this they have been granted a speed that is much greater compared to that of a human. They are able to see and avoid objects moving at incredible speeds and are also able to move faster than the human eye can perceive.

Superhuman Vision (Telescopic, X-Ray, Heat): Daxamites are able to see over great distances and perceive even the smallest of objects, with Telescopic Vision. X-Ray vision allows Daxamites to see through the atomic structure of an object, though they are unable to see through lead, like Kryptonians. Daxamites also posses the ability to shoot beams of stored solar energy from both eyes with Heat Vision.

Superhuman Hearing: Daxamites have the super human ability to hear all sounds at any volume or pitch.

Invulnerability: Daxamites are also immune or highly resistant to all forms of physical injury or damage, disease, or illness.
